Ammerman, Peak and Goho join HMH Board of Directors
Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors for 2026. Mr. Robert Peak and Mr. Joseph Ammerman were elected by the board in 2025 and have officially begun their terms, while Dr. Anne Goho will serve as Chief of Medical Staff. Mr. Peak succeeds Mr. Harland Hatter, who completed a 10‑year term of service. With Mr. Ammerman’s appointment, the HMH Board now includes 12 voting members, further strengthening the hospital’s governance and community representation. Dr. Goho replaces Dr. James Calder as Chief of Staff.
Mr. Robert Peak, Assistant Chief of Police, City of Cynthiana
Mr. Peak is a lifelong resident of Cynthiana and has dedicated his entire career to public service. After graduating from Harrison County High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He began his law enforcement career at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Center before serving 18 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Harrison County.
He later spent four years as a Detective in northern Kentucky until retiring in 2022. His commitment to the community brought him back home, where he now serves as Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Cynthiana.
Mr. Peak and his wife, Ashley, his high school sweetheart, married in 2002. Ashley is a longtime special education teacher at Eastside Elementary. They have three children: Addy (22), Dawson (19), and Luke (15), who joined their family through adoption in 2017.
In addition to his professional service, Mr. Peak is active in the community as an Elder at Central Christian Church and a member of the Cedar Ridge Advisory Council. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, and playing pickleball.
Mr. Joseph Ammerman, Owner & Insurance Agent, Smith Insurors, Inc.
Mr. Ammerman was also born and raised in Cynthiana and has spent his career supporting families and businesses throughout the region. He attended the University of Kentucky, majoring in middle school education, before returning home to join his family’s business, Smith Insurors, where he has now worked for more than 20 years.
In addition to his work in the insurance industry, Mr. Ammerman has been a high school football official since 1999, contributing to athletic programs across the state. He also serves as Chair of the Cynthiana Planning & Zoning Board of Adjustments and is a member of the City of Cynthiana Code Enforcement Board, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to community leadership.
Mr. Ammerman and his wife, Emily, have three children: Harlan (14), Mae (9), and Renaker (8).
Dr. Anne Goho, Chief of Staff and Pediatrician
Anne Goho, D.O., is the new HMH Chief of Staff, with a two-year term on the HMH Board of Directors. Dr. Goho joined the HMH Medical staff in 2020. She is a Pediatrician at HMH Primary Care Main and has provided pediatric care in the Cynthiana community for the past six years. Dr. Goho earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She completed her pediatric residency at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Dr. Goho is married to Derek Howard and they have one son. In her spare time, Dr. Goho enjoys attending community events, traveling and spending time on her farm.
