Harrison Memorial Hospital Announces Clinic Pharmacy Relocation and Launch of Specialty Pharmacy Services
Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) is pleased to announce the relocation of the HMH Clinic Pharmacy, operated by Harrison Memorial Hospital, to the former HMH Business Resource Center, located at 1214 U.S. Highway 36 East, on the HMH Main Campus behind the hospital. The pharmacy began serving patients at its new location on Monday, August 3.
The new location will provide additional space for the HMH Clinic Pharmacy, allowing it to expand its services and better serve patients throughout the community. The larger space will support improved workflow, greater convenience and enhanced access to pharmacy services while creating opportunities to offer additional programs and services that improve medication access, affordability and coordination of care.
The HMH Clinic Pharmacy welcomes prescriptions from any licensed healthcare provider and offers convenient prescription filling, medication counseling, prescription transfers, immunizations, medication synchronization, and other pharmacy services designed to meet the healthcare needs of the community.
In conjunction with the relocation, HMH is also launching a new HMH Specialty Pharmacy to support patients receiving care through HMH Primary Care and Specialty Clinics.
Specialty medications are often used to treat complex or chronic health conditions and may be costly or require additional coordination. The HMH Specialty Pharmacy will work directly with eligible patients, healthcare providers and insurance companies to help navigate medication approvals, obtain prior authorizations, identify available financial assistance programs and reduce out-of-pocket medication costs whenever possible.
Unlike a traditional retail pharmacy, the HMH Specialty Pharmacy provides comprehensive support throughout the treatment process. The pharmacy team works closely with HMH providers to help patients access specialty medications quickly while providing education, ongoing follow-up and assistance with insurance requirements and financial resources.
“Our goal is to make it easier for patients to obtain the medications they need to manage their health,” said Drew Stanley, HMH Executive Director of Pharmacy Services “The additional space and expanded pharmacy services will allow our team to better support patients while improving access to specialty medications and helping patients navigate the financial aspects of their treatment.”
The HMH Specialty Pharmacy will provide assistance with:
- Insurance prior authorizations and medication approvals
- Copay assistance and patient assistance programs
- Coordination between patients, providers and insurance companies
- Medication education and ongoing support
- Prescription refills and medication delivery or pickup arrangements, when applicable
Patients receiving care through an HMH Primary Care or Specialty Clinic are encouraged to speak with their healthcare provider to learn whether they qualify for specialty pharmacy services.
The HMH Clinic Pharmacy, operated by Harrison Memorial Hospital, will officially open at its new location on Monday, August 3, at 1214 U.S. Highway 36 East, on the HMH Main Campus behind the hospital at the former Business Resource Center.
