Harrison Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive Respiratory Care Services for both inpatients and outpatients experiencing acute or chronic breathing problems. Our respiratory therapists are certified, licensed professionals who work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to deliver personalized, evidence-based care.
Whether managing a chronic respiratory condition or responding to an emergency, our team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure patients receive the respiratory support they need.
Services Include:
- Oxygen therapy administration and monitoring
- Nebulizer treatments and inhaler education
- Pulmonary function testing
- Pulse oximetry and capnography monitoring
- CPAP/BiPAP setup and management
- Airway management and suctioning
- Ventilator management for critical care patients
- Chest physiotherapy and secretion clearance techniques
- Patient and caregiver education on respiratory conditions and therapies
Our respiratory therapists also play a vital role in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, and during cardiac or stroke emergencies, ensuring immediate, skilled intervention in critical situations.

Echovascular Testing
Echovascular testing combines heart and vascular ultrasound imaging to assess both cardiac function and blood flow in the body. It is a safe, painless, and non-invasive diagnostic tool.

Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Guided Recovery for Heart and Lung Health
Harrison Memorial Hospital also offers medically supervised Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs designed to help individuals improve stamina, strength, and overall health following a heart or lung diagnosis.
Cardiac Rehab is ideal for patients recovering from:
- Bypass surgery
- Angioplasty or stent placement
- Heart attack
- Chest pain (angina)
- Heart transplant or valve surgery
- Other heart-related conditions

Our program includes three structured phases, beginning during the hospital stay and continuing through outpatient supervised exercise and long-term wellness support.
Pulmonary Rehab supports patients with:

- Emphysema or chronic bronchitis
- Interstitial lung disease
- Other chronic lung conditions

Patients typically attend sessions three times per week for eight weeks, with progress evaluated regularly.
Getting Started
Our respiratory care and rehabilitation services are covered by most insurance plans, including Medicare. Physician referral is required for Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab.
