Obstetrical Care
Our obstetric team supports women throughout their pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery with advanced technology, private labor and delivery suites, and emergency surgical capabilities if needed.

• Vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) evaluation

Lactation Services
Certified lactation consultants are available during your hospital stay and can also schedule outpatient visits after discharge. Our nurses provide ongoing education and support to help you feel confident as you begin your breastfeeding journey.

In-person childbirth classes are available to help prepare expectant parents for labor, delivery, and newborn care.

Infant Safe Sleep

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) was recently recognized by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program as a silver level for their commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep. They are one of the first hospitals in Kentucky to receive the title.
The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created by Cribs for Kids®, a Pittsburgh-based organization dedicated to preventing infant, sleep-related deaths due to accidental suffocation. In addition to being Cribs for Kids® partners, HMH was recognized for following the safe sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and providing training programs for parents, staff and the community. To be designated a Silver Certified Safe Sleep Leader the hospital must:
- Develop and maintain a Safe Sleep Policy;
- Provide staff working on the units serving infants and children under the age of one year with training on infant safe sleep;
- Provide infant safe sleep education to the parents of infants prior to discharge;
- Make use of wearable blankets in the Well-Baby Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, as applicable;
- Record progress and report successes with the use of our PDSA tool

Gynecological Care
Our board-certified physicians also provide a wide range of gynecological services to help women manage their health across all life stages—from adolescence to menopause and beyond.
