Harrison Memorial Hospital Earns CMS 5-Star Rating for Patient Experience
Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) has earned a five-star patient survey rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), placing HMH among only three hospitals in Kentucky and 250 hospitals nationwide to receive the highest rating for patient experience.
According to Becker’s Hospital Review, CMS’ most recent release of patient experience data identified 250 hospitals nationwide that earned a five-star patient survey rating. Harrison Memorial Hospital was one of only three Kentucky hospitals included on the list.
The CMS patient survey star ratings are based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey, which measures patients’ experiences during a recent hospital stay.
“This five-star rating is especially meaningful because it comes directly from our patients and reflects the experiences they have while receiving care at Harrison Memorial Hospital,” said Kathy Tussey, Chief Executive Officer of Harrison Memorial Hospital. “Keeping the patient first is at the heart of everything we do. To be one of only three hospitals in Kentucky and 250 across the country to receive this distinction is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the compassion, dedication and commitment our employees demonstrate every day. Most importantly, we thank our patients for trusting HMH with their care and for sharing their experiences.”
The five-star recognition reflects the commitment of HMH physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, clinical staff, support staff and employees throughout the organization to providing a positive experience for every patient.
“We are grateful to every member of the HMH team who contributes to the patient experience, whether providing care at the bedside or supporting our patients behind the scenes,” Tussey added. “This recognition belongs to our entire organization and, most importantly, we thank our patients and the communities we are privileged to serve for continuing to place their trust in HMH.”
Harrison Memorial Hospital has served Cynthiana, Harrison County and the surrounding communities since 1906. As a locally owned and controlled, not-for-profit hospital, HMH remains committed to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare close to home.
