Heart Failure Monitoring

Advanced Heart Failure Care at HMH

Harrison Memorial Hospital offers the Cordella™ Pulmonary Artery Sensor System, an advanced heart failure monitoring technology designed to help patients and their healthcare team manage heart failure between office visits.

The system provides important information about pulmonary artery pressure, allowing the HMH Cardiology team to identify changes and make treatment decisions before symptoms become more severe.

What Is the Cordella Implant?

The Cordella™ sensor is a small, wireless device implanted in the pulmonary artery to monitor pulmonary artery pressure in patients with heart failure.

Changes in pulmonary artery pressure can occur before a patient notices worsening heart failure symptoms. Monitoring these changes can provide the healthcare team with valuable information to help guide treatment.

How Does Cordella Work?

The Cordella sensor is implanted in the pulmonary artery during a minimally invasive procedure.

Following implantation, patients use the Cordella system at home to collect health information. This information is transmitted to the healthcare team, allowing them to monitor the patient’s condition and make treatment adjustments when appropriate.

Earlier identification of changes may help prevent heart failure symptoms from becoming more severe and reduce the need for hospitalization.

Who May Be a Candidate?

Cordella may be an option for certain patients living with heart failure who would benefit from ongoing pulmonary artery pressure monitoring.

The HMH Cardiology team can evaluate patients to determine whether the Cordella system is appropriate for their individual condition and treatment needs.
