Harrison County EMS (HCEMS) is proud to announce that it has received certification as a Level 3 Training and Educational Institution (TEI) from the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS).

This certification authorizes HCEMS to provide both initial certification programs and continuing education courses for EMS professionals and community members.

“We are excited that HCEMS can now provide initial training for anyone wishing to begin or advance their career in Emergency Medical Services. Our staff will also benefit from the continuing education and recertifications required to maintain their licenses,” said Shane Bussell, Director of the Harrison County EMS. “In addition to EMS training, HCEMS will be offering community classes in First Aid, CPR, and AED training, helping ensure that lifesaving skills are available to everyone.”

HCEMS TEI will offer training in:

  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT)
  • Emergency Medical Technician – Advanced (AEMT)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • First Aid Training
