HMH sponsors annual Community Health Fair

The Harrison County Community Health Fair will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Harrison County Middle School.

The event offers free tests and screenings to area residents and is open to everyone. It is not exclusive to Harrison County residents. All lab results will be posted to the HMH Patient Portal, or you may contact HMH Health Information Department to request a printed version.

This year marks the 31st anniversary of the Harrison County Community Health Fair. The annual fair began in 1992 and was called Farm Family Health Fair. It was coordinated by Harrison County Extension Office and Harrison Memorial Hospital. The event has grown from 111 participants to nearly 500 people in past years. Last year, 140 people attended.

The fair will offer a free lipid profile, which checks cholesterol and triglycerides, and a blood sugar test. If you are having blood tests for cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar, please remember to fast after midnight; however, take your medications with a small amount of water. In addition, HMH will offer thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSA) blood test.

Other screenings and tests include balance assessment, blood pressure, body-fat analysis, oxygen level, cardiac risk, lung cancer screening questionnaire, stroke risk, kidney disease, diabetes risk and colorectal cancer. The Cynthiana Lions Club will provide vision screenings. The Bluegrass Lions Club Diabetes Project will provide diabetes risk screening including A1C.

The event is sponsored by HMH, the Harrison County Extension Office, Harrison County School System, UK Markey Cancer Center Affiliate Network, UK Gill Heart and Vascular Institute Affiliate Network and Wedco Health Department.

More than 20 exhibitors will be available with education and information.
