HMH earns CMS 5-Star Rating Cleanliness

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) has been recognized as one of the top hospitals in the state for cleanliness, earning a prestigious 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This achievement places HMH among an elite group of only eight hospitals in the state to receive the 5-star designation for cleanliness and the third consecutive time in a row.

The CMS rating is based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, a national, standardized survey of hospital patients. The survey measures patients’ experiences during their recent inpatient hospital stays, focusing on factors that contribute to the overall quality of care. The surveys were completed between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, with the data last updated on May 13.

“This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, dedication and attention to detail demonstrated by our Environmental Services team every day,” said Kathy Tussey, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “From the moment patients and families enter our hospital, cleanliness plays an important role in helping them feel safe, comfortable and confident in the care they receive. A clean environment is essential to healing, patient satisfaction and overall quality of care. We are incredibly proud of our team for earning this distinction and for helping Harrison Memorial Hospital maintain the highest standards for those we serve.”

Congratulations to the Environmental Services team for this incredible accomplishment and for their ongoing commitment to excellence. This recognition reaffirms Harrison Memorial Hospital’s dedication to providing exceptional care in a safe, welcoming, and patient-focused environment—ensuring that the community can always count on HMH for the highest standards of healthcare close to home.
