HMH earns CMS 5-Star Rating for Cleanliness

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) has been recognized as one of the top hospitals in the state for cleanliness, earning a prestigious 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This achievement places HMH among an elite group of only seven hospitals in the state to receive the 5-star designation for cleanliness.

The CMS rating is based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, a national, standardized survey of hospital patients. The survey measures patients’ experiences during their recent inpatient hospital stays, focusing on factors that contribute to the overall quality of care. The surveys were completed between October 2023 and September 2024, with the data last updated on August 6.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the pride and ownership our Environmental Services team takes in their work every single day,” said Kathy Tussey, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “Their commitment ensures that patients, families, and staff feel safe and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors. Cleanliness is not just a standard—it is a vital part of healing and patient confidence, and we are proud to be recognized among the best in the state.”

Congratulations to the Environmental Services team for this incredible accomplishment and for their ongoing commitment to excellence. This recognition reaffirms Harrison Memorial Hospital’s dedication to providing exceptional care in a safe, welcoming, and patient-focused environment—ensuring that the community can always count on HMH for the highest standards of healthcare close to home.
