Message from our CEO

Each day, I’m reminded of what an honor it is to lead one of Kentucky’s few remaining not-for profit, independent hospitals. Remaining independent is very intentional on our part. It keeps us focused on the one reason that we exist—to care for the people of Harrison and the surrounding counties we serve.  It takes the creativity, skill, experience, commitment, and determination of our physicians and staff who constantly demonstrate through their actions just how connected they are to the communities they serve. It’s this on-going connection that charts our path as a regional medical center.
Harrison Memorial Hospital is proud to be one of our region’s leading employers. And, we have a great team of loyal employees. This says a great deal about the culture and environment we have here at HMH. This culture is passed on to our patients in the form of quality, compassionate healthcare. Our roughly 500 employees focus on caring for our communities, not just through bedside or clinic care, but also through community health fairs and screenings, educational programs we bring to our schools, and even our “Dinner with the Doc” series. And by regularly conducting Community Health Needs Assessment, we learn from the folks in our community the exact services they require to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Through needs assessments, focus groups, and ongoing communication with patients, we continually identify physicians and services that will keep our patients healthy and keep them coming back for a lifetime of care. At Harrison Memorial Hospital, we find ourselves continually reinvesting in our communities with enhanced facilities and state-of-the-art medical equipment. Our goal is to make comprehensive healthcare easy to access, to ensure you receive your care when and where it’s convenient for you.
We’ll continue to grow our services in neurology, sleep disorders, orthopaedics, sports medicine, urology, ear-nose-throat, general surgery, gastroenterology, podiatry, pain management, pediatrics, and, of course, primary care. Recognizing how crucial timely intervention is for heart attacks, we ensure our interventional cardiac catheterization lab provides innovative care at a moment’s notice. You can count on our emergency services department to provide lifesaving care around the clock. And, our affiliation with UK Markey Cancer Center and UK Gill Heart Institute ensure you have access to additional care should it become necessary.
The dedication of our physicians and staff during the on-going pandemic, pulling together as a team, displayed in great brilliance the values they bring to their work every day. Nurses, doctors and non-clinical staff alike have been working tirelessly and selflessly to put you, our valued patients, first. That’s the way great healthcare should be. We appreciate your support and trust, and we ask that you continue to hold us accountable.
