Message from our CEO

I am honored to serve at Harrison Memorial Hospital--one of the few independent hospitals in Kentucky.  Our status as an independent, not-for-profit hospital, governed by a board of local community members allows us to focus solely on caring for the people of Harrison and the surrounding counties we serve.  Decision-making, priority-setting, and accountability to our patients all remains local. Operating independently requires great creativity, skill, experience, commitment, and determination on the part of our physicians and staff.

We are pleased to offer a comprehensive array of specialty services unique to our region—including interventional cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, newborn care, pulmonology and respiratory care, neurology and sleep medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, hematology and oncology, behavioral health, pain management, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, emergency medicine, and an inpatient hospitalist program.  Strong primary care is the foundation of our services.  Private practice groups and HMH Primary Care clinics throughout the region ensure that our communities have access to quality care.

Harrison Memorial Hospital is proud to be one of our region’s leading employers. We have a great team of loyal employees who constantly demonstrate their dedication to caring for others. This says a great deal about the culture and environment we have here at HMH. This culture is passed on to our patients in the form of quality, compassionate healthcare. Our over 500 employees focus on making a difference for others, not just through bedside or clinical care, but also through community health fairs and screenings, educational programs we bring to our schools, and even through our “Dinner with the Doc” series. And by regularly conducting Community Health Needs Assessments, we learn from the folks in our community the exact services they require to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Through needs assessments, focus groups, and ongoing communication with patients, we continually enhance services that will keep our patients healthy and keep them coming back for a lifetime of care. At Harrison Memorial Hospital, we find ourselves continually reinvesting in our communities with enhanced facilities and state-of-the-art medical equipment. Our goal is to make comprehensive healthcare easy to access so that you can receive your care when and where it’s needed.

Please always feel free to contact me directly with questions, concerns, comments, or recommendations that will keep us moving forward.

Sincerely,

Stephen K. Toadvine, M.D.
