pain management
At Harrison Memorial Hospital, our Pain Management program treats patients suffering from both acute and chronic pain. Our approach is not only to help alleviate acute pain for our patients, but also to teach them how to manage chronic pain for a lifetime. A referral from your primary care physician is all that’s needed to get started.
Our Pain Management Specialist, Anjum Bux, M.D., has been treating patients in need of pain management for approximately 20 years. We treat the following conditions:
• Neck pain, including work-related injuries;
• Back pain, including work-related injuries and sciatica;
• Persistent pain after back or neck surgery;
• Arthritis pain in neck or lower back;
• Complex Regional Pain Syndrome;
• Nerve damage or muscle spasm pain;
• Shingles pain;
• Cancer pain;
• Pain from a compression fracture
Here’s what you can expect. First, we conduct a thorough evaluation of each patient. Then, Dr. Bux creates a plan of care specifically tailored to meet your diagnosis. Neuromodulation and modalities, interventional procedures and physical therapy are each considered before writing a plan of treatment, ensuring the right course of action for your diagnosis is prescribed.
Dr. Bux earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. He completed his residency in anesthesiology from University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Dr. Bux is board certified in anesthesia and is a diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management.
