Alex Caldwell earns ACHE Certification

Alex Caldwell recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders. Earning the FACHE® credential, signifies board certification in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.

Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. In fact, only 8,866 healthcare executives hold this distinction.

To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education hours, demonstrating professional/community involvement and passing a comprehensive examination. Fellows also are committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.

Caldwell is a graduate of Paris High School in 1999 and attended Transylvania University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science with a minor in art in 2003. He then attended the University of Kentucky earning a Master of Science degree in physical therapy in 2006. After graduation, Caldwell joined the HMH Rehabilitation Services department as a staff physical therapist.

In 2009, Caldwell was named co-manager of HMH Rehabilitation Services. His job duties were management of the outpatient clinic therapies including physical, occupational, massage and speech therapy, athletic training and the HMH Wellness Center.

In 2022, he became the Director of Support Services, which supervises the Dietary, Environmental Services and Rehabilitation Services Departments.

“Special thank you to Dr. Toadvine for the direction and guidance on this endeavor. The journey in obtaining this ACHE fellowship was certainly arduous at times, but never ceased to be fulfilling with excellent learning and networking opportunities. The usefulness and contemporary nature of this new knowledge-base has proven to provide clarities pertinent to our current complex healthcare system, and specifically here at HMH. I’m quite grateful for all the support and engagement from everyone that’s played a role, and I look forward to continuing down the path of learning and leadership,” said Caldwell.

Caldwell is married to Tara. They have two children, Kyndra and Nathaniel.

“I am proud of Alex in obtaining this certification. By becoming an ACHE Fellow and earning the distinction of board certification from ACHE, he demonstrates a commitment to excellence in serving our patients and the community,” said Kathy Tussey, HMH Chief Operating Officer and HMH Chief Nursing Officer. “Please join me in congratulating him on this accomplishment.”
