Peggy Lair has been named the new Chief Financial Officer at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Lair will succeed David Mellett, who has announced his retirement. Mellett will stay through August 27, 2021, to ensure an efficient transition.
Lair will be responsible for the organization’s financial planning, analysis of financial performance, revenue cycle performance, accounting, and regulatory financial reporting. She will also have oversight of the department of Health Information Management.
Lair is a native of southwest Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. She then earned her Masters of Business Administration from University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH.

Prior to her career at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Lair was the controller for Webber Sausage Company and a tax accountant for Proctor & Gamble, Cincinnati, OH.
“I am extremely pleased that Peggy will be serving as our Chief Financial Officer,” said Dr. Stephen Toadvine, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “Her skills, insight, knowledge of HMH, and commitment to serving our community make her the ideal person to succeed David Mellett and provide HMH with the on-going financial leadership for success today and into the future.”
