Harrison Memorial Hospital Receives 2018 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for
Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce it has been named a 2018 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in Clinical Quality.
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year. The Guardian of Excellence Award honors top facilities for patient experience, employee engagement or clinical quality. HMH was honored with the award for clinical quality.
The clinical quality award is based on clinical measures from the heart failure, immunization, pneumonia, postnatal care, surgical infection prevention, stroke and venous thromboembolism measure sets from 2015. Clients are recognized for performing in the 95th percentile on the overall composite for a minimum of ten cases for at least five of the measures listed above. The measures are set by federal government and The Joint Commission.
"We are proud to partner with Harrison Memorial Hospital to support their mission to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “They are truly dedicated to delivering exceptional care in the communities they serve, and their commitment to capturing and acting on patient experience feedback is a very powerful demonstration of this.”
More than 5,000 healthcare facilities were eligible for these awards. HMH has been chosen for the third consecutive year for the Guardian of Excellence Award in Clinical Quality. In addition, HMH was one of only fifteen hospitals to receive the clinical quality award. Also, HMH was the only hospital in Kentucky to be given the Guardian of Excellence Award. The awards were presented to HMH at the 2018 Press Ganey Conference in Orlando, Florida on November 12.
“The award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience,” says Sheila Currans, HMH Chief Executive Officer. “It validates the practices and programs that we have in place to ensure high quality care for the patient. I am especially proud of achieving the guardian of excellence award recognition for the third consecutive year.
