HMH now offers KidTown Preschool on campus
Harrison Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of KidTown Preschool on the Harrison Memorial Hospital campus beginning August 8, 2016. Our preschool will serve children ages 3, 4 and 5. However, currently, we have limited openings available for children ages 4 and 5 only. Our experienced educators will provide a safe, kid-friendly environment, where we’ll teach your little one the joy of learning.
KidTown Preschool is led by our manager, Tracy Lair-Barnes. Tracy, a native of Harrison County, has more than five years of experience teaching preschool. She graduated from Morehead State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and learning/behavior disorders. She received her master’s degree in interdisciplinary early childhood education in 2013 and her Rank 1 certification in director of special education Level 1 in 2014.
“We are excited to open KidTown Preschool as an additional child care service in the community for 3-, 4- and 5-year-old children,” said Becky Jenkins, HMH Human Resources Director. “The preschool will provide learning experiences for each child in preparation for early success and school readiness.”
KidTown Preschool will closely follow the Harrison County Schools calendar. On non-school days, students enrolled in KidTown Preschool will be able to access our Toddler Village Daycare between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The location of KidTown Preschool will be in the same building as Toddler Village Daycare.
In addition to our new preschool program, HMH added KidTown Before and After School Program in late 2015 for children ages Kindergarten through fifth grade. Our before- and after-school program has available openings for this summer and the 2016-17 school year. Our before-school hours are 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. and our after-school hours are from school dismissal to 6:00 p.m. Children will be transported by the Harrison County school system bus service.
