HMH expands services in Digestive Health
Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) is pleased to announce a full-time digestive health clinic with the addition of Earl G. Robbins, II, M.D., and Kathleen Stump, APRN, to the HMH Medical Staff. Together, these two healthcare professionals will bring comprehensive gastroenterology and hepatology services to the HMH service area.
Dr. Robbins is board certified in gastroenterology and has more than 20 years of experience treating the digestive system. He provides services in general gastroenterology and digestive diseases. Dr. Robbins earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky (UK), in Lexington, Kentucky, and his medical degree from the UK College of Medicine. He completed an internship/residency in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, in Atlanta, Georgia, before going on to complete fellowships in both gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, in Miami Beach, Florida.
Kathleen Stump is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who specializes in digestive health with more than five years of experience. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. She then earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Frontier Nursing University. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Board.
The gastroenterology clinic will provide the following services:
• Colonic disorders, including polyps, colon cancer, diverticular diseases, ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s colitis.
• Digestive diseases involving the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, liver, biliary system, pancreas and colon.
• Endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, ERCP, feeding tube placement and liver biopsy.
• Esophageal disorders, including GERD and reflux esophagitis.
• Disorders of the bowel.
• Gastric disorders (peptic ulcer diseases and gastritis).
• Liver disorder treatment and management.
• Screening for prevention of colon cancer.
• Small bowel disorders (celiac disease, Crohn’s disease and pancreatic and biliary disorders).
