HMH Board of Directors names Koch as new member to the board
In December 2024, Charles Koch was unanimously appointed to the Harrison Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, replacing A. Patrick Darnell, who completed a 9-year term. Koch will serve a 10-year term as the board's 11th member.
Raised in Bourbon County on Claiborne Farm, he earned a History degree from the University of Kentucky before returning to Claiborne and eventually becoming assistant farm manager.
In 2008, after the passing of their daughter Addie, Koch and his wife, Katie, moved to Harrison County. For 12 years he managed Lake Horse Transportation in Paris, helping expand that company from a few truck operation to a fleet of trucks and tractor-trailers operating on a national scale. In 2021, Koch was named Production Coordinator at Lucas Equine Equipment where he is responsible for scheduling orders through production, procuring materials and logistics.
Koch, who also serves on the Harrison County High School Site Base Decision Making Council, enjoys golfing and helping maintain the family farm. With three girls, the family is active in St. Edward Church and many community and school events.
