HMH honors Auxiliary Members
The Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) Auxiliary held its annual spring volunteer luncheon on Wednesday, April 23. Thirty volunteers plus several HMH staff attended the event. The volunteers enjoyed a delicious meal provided by HMH.
Theresa Philpott, HMH Auxiliary President, gave an overview of the activities of the auxiliary over the past year. Dr. Kathy Tussey, HMH CEO, gave a brief update on current initiatives at the hospital and thanked the volunteers for their service. The volunteers were also given a gift of appreciation from HMH.
The installation of officers took place at the luncheon. HMH Auxiliary officers for the upcoming year are President Theresa Philpott, Vice-President Beverly Judy, Secretary Teresa Stinson, Corresponding Secretary Tina Ring, Treasurer Gary Philpott, Ways and Means Chair Christy Hall, Public Relations Chair Mollie Smith, Gift Shop Buyer Judy Letcher and Gift Shop Coordinator Trudie Harrison.
The HMH Auxiliary had a very successful year in 2024. Two of the main sources of income were the Auxiliary Gift Shop, raising $22,000, and Auxiliary fundraisers, which garnered $26,161.
In 2024, the HMH Auxiliary assisted with the HMH Foundation Gala donating $35,000 for the C-Section Suite and $5,000 to the HMH educational assistance fund. Additionally, members donated to Harrison County Relay for Life, Jackie’s House, HMH S.A.N.E. Program, HMH Breast Cancer Awareness Event, Hope’s Helping Hands Food Pantry and Cynthiana-Harrison County Food Pantry through the Dairy Queen Fundraisers.
In addition, the HMH Auxiliary hosted its first annual Holiday Tree Lighting for the community. Also, the members hosted one holiday movie event for the employees at Rohs Theatre.
Since 2012, the HMH Auxiliary has donated more than $519,000 for patient equipment and staff education.
