HMH Urges Patients to Schedule Cancer Screenings

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) has joined a nationwide effort to encourage patients to resume appropriate screening to detect cancer early.
 

HMH Physician Group: Primary Care chosen to participate in Kentucky Diabetes Learning Collaborative

The HMH Physician Group: Primary Care practice was chosen to participate in the Kentucky Diabetes Learning Collaborative (DLC) funded by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The practice was chosen by UK Healthcare’s Regional Extension Center, the Kentucky Department of Public Health and the Kentucky Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. The HMH Physician Group: Primary Care office was one of 10 practices chosen for the collaboration. The project will begin in May of 2021.

HMH receives President’s Service Award from KHA

The Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) presented Harrison Memorial Hospital with the President’s Service Award in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contributions and unselfish devotion for service to the community and the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the past year.

The KHA recognized Kentucky’s hospitals who have been on the front lines, leading the way in the fight against COVID-19. HMH was provided this special award of merit to recognize the leadership and the employees for their significant contribution to the community.

Asher named Chief Administrative Officer of HMH Physician Group

David Asher has been named the new Chief Administrative Officer of the HMH Physician Group.

Since 2010, Asher has served as Physician Practice Support Manager at HMH, overseeing the day-to-day operations of 12 practices. In his new role, Asher will be responsible for ongoing operations, implementation of strategic initiatives, and continued growth for the HMH Physician Group.

HMH offers post-COVID-19 lung assessments

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a growing population of individuals recovering from acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. Reports suggest that following infection, many novel coronavirus patients will experience lingering deficits in pulmonary functioning, which can cause diminished health and quality-of-life issues. Although the long-term effects of COVID-19 are still unknown, the HMH Physician Group: Pulmonary Services is now providing post-COVID-19 lung assessments.

Jenkins named Chief Compliance Officer at HMH

The Board of Directors at Harrison Memorial Hospital has named Rebecca Jenkins as the new Chief Compliance Officer for the facility. In her new role, Jenkins will be responsible for Corporate Compliance, Risk Management, and Case Management. She will also serve in a supervisory oversight role for Human Resources and KidTown Daycare and Preschool.

The Chief Compliance Officer ensures that the hospital follows best practices that govern the industry, as well as monitors and meets applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.

HMH Board of Directors names Medical/Surgical Department in honor of Sheila M. Currans

On March 18, 2021, the HMH Board of Directors named the Medical/Surgical Department of Harrison Memorial Hospital in honor of Sheila M. Currans, retiring HMH Chief Executive Officer.

HMH Names Stephen K. Toadvine, M.D. New Chief Executive Officer

The Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Stephen K. Toadvine, M.D., MPH, MMM as Chief Executive Officer for Harrison Memorial Hospital. Dr. Toadvine will assume the role on March 15, 2021. Retiring HMH CEO, Sheila Currans, will serve in an advisory role, until transition is complete.

HMH Sleep Disorder Lab achieves Accreditation with ACHC

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) proudly announces its approval of accreditation status by Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for the services of the HMH Sleep Disorder Lab. ACHC’s Sleep Accreditation program offers standards for Sleep Labs/Centers (SLCs) and stand-alone Home Sleep Testing (HST) services. ACHC is a not-for-profit organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986.
