Harrison Memorial Hospital Earns Trauma Level IV Center Re-Designation

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) announced it is officially re-verified as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Kentucky Trauma System and verified by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services Department of Public Health. The designation was awarded in December.

Harrison Memorial Hospital awarded Best Places to Work in Kentucky for ninth consecutive year

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) in Cynthiana, Kentucky, was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2019.  The awards program was created in 2005 and is a project of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and Lifestyle Health Plans. 

The statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Kentucky, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Kentucky 2019 list is made up of 100 companies.

Harrison Memorial Hospital was awarded an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade. The designation recognizes Harrison Memorial Hospital’s efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States. The Leapfrog Group is a national organization committed to improving health care quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. The Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among patients in their care.

Harrison Memorial Hospital Receives ACC Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation

The American College of Cardiology has recognized Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain. HMH was awarded Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation in August based on a rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.

HMH Earns National Accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons

The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has granted three-year accreditation to the cancer program at Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH). To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) announced that HMH Physician Group: Primary Care in Cynthiana, KY has received NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long‐term, participative relationships. Harrison Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory Department Receives Accreditation from College of American Pathologists

Harrison Memorial Hospital Laboratory in Cynthiana, KY, has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection.

The laboratory’s medical director, Patrick C. Crowe, M.D. was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided.  Harrison Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory Department is one of more than 7,700 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide.

HMH Sleep Disorder Lab achieves Accreditation with ACHC

Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) proudly announces its approval of accreditation status by Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for the services of the HMH Sleep Disorder Lab. ACHC’s Sleep Accreditation program offers standards for Sleep Labs/Centers (SLCs) and stand-alone Home Sleep Testing (HST) services. Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) is now offering a new procedure to patients who have congestive heart failure. The procedure involves a miniaturized, wireless monitoring sensor to manage heart failure (HF). The CardioMEMS HF System is the first and only FDA-approved heart failure monitoring device that has been proven to significantly reduce hospital admissions when used by physicians to manage heart failure.
